Origin Unable To Download Game

@OriginInsider I bought Shift 2 and I demand a refund, the game crashes on. @OriginInsider @EAHelp @ORIGINPC I am unable to download the Origin client. @The_Scalti @eahelp any known issues with origin servers? Download speeds. @BakesJacob @thesims unable to purchase the new game pack via origin. A few weeks ago my Origin just decided to stop loading the game images and the origin web pages in general. The other EA pages load just fine, but. Jump to content. And I’m running into a problem of the download freezing at 100%. Origin Pages Won't Load (self.origin) submitted 4 years ago.

  2. We're Sorry Origin Was Unable To Download Your Game Sims 4

So my roommate just bought BF3 premium edition on Origin, for his new computer. His C drive, with windows, is a 128gb SSD, that's already damn near full, but he has a terabyte storage drive for most things. He installed Origin itself onto the storage drive (which is F). But, when we go to download BF3, it automatically created the 'origin games' folder on the C drive (which doesn't have room), and wants to download BF3 there, and isn't giving an option to put it anywhere else. I was worried that would happen if he put origin on the C drive, which is why we did what I thought would eliminate any confusion, and just put origin on the F drive. But now origin is insisting on downloading the game to C, even though origin isn't on C. What's going on? How do we get origin to put BF3 in an 'origin games' folder on the F drive?

Origin Won't Download Games

Why doesn't this want to work? I copied the files from my brother so I could avoid downloading 50gbs, but every time I try to install it after copying the files it will just give me a random completion number then try to download the rest. It's the full size of the game being copied so I know I'm not missing anything.
WHY IS IT SO **** COMPLICATED FOR SOMETHING SO **** SIMPLE, JUST READ MY EXISTING FILES IN THE INSTALL LOCATION, **** ORIGIN HOLY ****

Rather than starting a childish rant you could have just googled it... Now assuming there isn't some user specific file in your folder and nothing as changed since i last did it.
    1) Start the download
    2) Pause and close origin
    3) c&p files
    4) Resume download
And it will detect your files

Except it doesn't detect my files, it just reads a random amount of them and gives me a a random percentage of completion every time. This isn't a OH YEAH I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO COPY FILES thread. This is an Origin is **** trash and won't properly read the files I am pasting into the install location thread

Sounds more like a 'My internet is trash' thread to me.
Does your brother have better internet? just take your pc to his house and download it there?

This worked fine for me transferring my files to 1) My laptop and 2) My brothers computer.
I didn't even have to close Origin but just started the download, paused it and resumed it after the copy pasting was done.
It still downloaded something for about a minute but after that, all was good.

I haven't ever tried to move Origin games to another PC, maybe that is the problem, different hardware? No idea sorry.
    .
The way I have managed to move Origin games within a computer from one drive to another (HDD to SSD) was:
    - Copy the full directory to another folder
    - Uninstall the game via Origin
    - Install the game in the right place
    - Pause the install once it starts
    - Copy the files from where I moved them
    - Continue the install, it detects the files and doesn't take long
    .
Steam games don't work this way btw, learned the hard way and downloaded Fallout 4 again, all expansions too. But there's Steammover IIRC that works nicely, no need to fiddle files.

Then there's probably important files tied to an account that's preventing them being used by another user, i've copied files over to another PC but never to another user before. Probably to help stop them being distributed illegally.
Would have been simpler to just pre-load like everyone else...

    This does work on steam, i've done it countless times;
Copy files to another location > uninstall via steam > install in the new location and it'll detect the files you copied there.. there's a few times it's been odd and doesn't but i'd say i've had about a 90% success rate..
